The Road Back Thursday March 21, 2019
Working out in the evening is definitely not for me, it just feels weird. Besides that there is too much chance that something will come up to cause a delay and once you start down that path a week or two can go by before you realize.
I worked out this morning, later than I normally would because, let’s face it, your body needs time to rest and recuperate between work-outs. Twelve hours wasn’t really long enough but given the alternative, skipping a day, I’ll deal with the soreness.
Still just doing the Stretching and Calisthenics Routing I developed a few years ago, mostly, I won’t be doing Roundhouse Kicks for three more weeks.
- Standing Bicycle Crunch Four sets of eight.
- Horse Stance Cross Punch Four sets of eight.
- Oblique Knee Raise Four sets of eight.
- Leaning Knee Raise Four sets of eight.
- Front Kick Four sets of eight.
- Back Kick Four sets of eight.
- Push-ups Two sets of ten.
- Body Weight Squats Two sets of ten.
I forgot to mention how I do my reps and sets and where the Stretching comes in. All the Calisthenics moves I do were chosen for three reasons. They all work the abs, legs and increase flexibility. I do one movement, at present four sets of eight, rest for thirty seconds, then on to the next one.
The push-ups and body weight squats are not really part of the routine, I only added them temporarily until I start going to the gym again this coming Monday. That’s not counting if I go to the gym for a run on the treadmill. For the push-ups and squats I do one set of ten, rest for thirty seconds, and so on.
That’s it for the day.
