Stretching and Calisthenics Day
Up at it early today but it is such a nice sunny day here in Michigan I stopped at the Dixieland Flea Market on the way back from running on the treadmill at Planet Fitness. I also decided it was high time I started to use some of the amenities that come with my Black Card Membership. I used one of the Massage Chairs for ten minutes before moving on to the Total Body Enhancement booth.
The also have free tanning booths available but I like the sun but I’ll probably use the Hydro-massage when I go back on Monday. It kind of slipped my mind that they offer so many extras that I feel like I’ve been missing the boat, with my ticket bought and paid for.
Stretching and Calisthenics Routine
Standing Bicycle Crunch Five sets of eight.
Horse Stance Cross Punch Five sets of eight.
Oblique Knee Raise Five sets of eight.
Front Kick Five sets of eight.
Leaning Knee Raise Five sets of eight.
Round House Kick Five sets of eight.
Front Kick Five sets of eight.
Back Kick Five sets of eight.
Body Weight Squats Five sets of ten.
I saw a doctor yesterday about the issue I’ve been having with my right knee, It’s been getting pretty sore after running or Leg Day, especially sore after running on Leg Day!
I have a good news/bad news scenario, The good news is I won’t need surgery in the foreseeable future, the bad news is I have arthritis, probably in both knees, because the doctor said the popping sound I hear when I bend or straighten my right knee is a sign of arthritis and both of my knees have been popping for about ten years now.
Further good news is that running won’t cause any more damage but if the pain gets to be more than I’m willing to endure I should switch to cycling for my cardio. He also said keeping my quads strong will lessen the pain so I will be adding some weight to my Squats. Not too much, maybe ten lbs in each hand and see where it goes from there.
