The Road Back Monday March 25, 2019
Some days you just don’t feel like doing the things you know you need to do, today is one of those days. I can’t really say why, might have been the odd pain in my stomach this morning. Nothing serious, it just felt wrong. Probably nerves or a slight case of indigestion. That being said I did my work-out this morning but it was late, almost afternoon.
But I got it done, all of it. Such as it is, at ant rate. I don’t work out like most people, spending an our or so in the gym just isn’t for me. Don’t get me wrong, I want to get back in shape and stay in shape. I’m just not willing to keep doing it the way I used to.
To be honest I used to have a two-hour full body work-out I did faithfully but it never gave my what I was looking for. Sure I got stronger but the definition was never quite there. Last year I came across a different theory of working out, less time with more intensity. It seemed to be working right but my hernia kept getting in the way. It’s hard to give it your all when you’re worried your guts might spill over your groin.
That was last year, my injury is repaired and healing well. Now it’s time for a real test. I’m doing a two-week revolving work-out schedule twenty minutes a day, maybe less but not more, it looks like this:

Tuesday, Calisthenics and Stretching

Friday, Shoulders
Saturday, Calisthenics and Stretching

So today was Chest Day it took about fifteen minutes. I go to Planet Fitness so I use what they have.
On the fly machine, I don’t know the actual name, I did four sets of ten at 85 lbs. On the chest press I did One set of ten at 40 lbs. It wasn’t enough so I did my second set of ten at 55 lbs, a little too much, so my last two sets of ten were at fifty lbs.Then on the the Hammer Incline press, very poor showing there, one set of ten at 40 lbs and one set of 8 at 40 lbs.
Chest Flies Four sets of Ten at 85 lbs
Chest Press 1 set at 40 lbs 1 Set at 55 lbs 2 sets at 50 lbs
Hammer Incline Press 1 set of ten at 40 lbs 1 set of 8 at 40 lbs
I don’t count it as part of my work-out but I did a brisk ten minute walk on the treadmill with a three minute cool down.
