Look Great In A Tank Top This Summer
One of the most popular, and least followed through with, New Year’s Resolutions is to lose weight.
Those that reach their target weight are often dissatisfied with the results. You can be the right weight and still be flabby. Weight loss without resistance training is only half of the battle.
To look good in a tank top you want two things, defined shoulders and a narrow waist.
There are two easy to do shoulder exercises that will help.
Lateral Raise
Hold a light dumbbell in each hand, palms facing in and arms straight.
Keeping your arms straight slowly raise your hands to just above shoulder level, twist your little finger up slightly, slowly lower your arms back to the starting position.
If you want to build up your trapezius, the muscle between your neck and shoulder, there is a variation you can do.
When you get to shoulder level twist your palms inwards facing each other and almost meet above your head, like a jumping jack.
Do three sets of ten, resting about one minute between sets.
For men this movement will cap your shoulders making your arms more powerful looking.
For the ladies it will give your arms that sleek, toned look.
Front Raise
Hold two light dumbbells in front of your thighs and lift your arms straight out in front of you until your arms are parallel to the floor then slowly lower them back to the starting position.
This movement will give the front of a man’s shoulder definition similar to a that of a professional boxer’s.
For the ladies it will add to your overall toned look.
And ladies, don’t be afraid of lifting weights. You won’t get big bulging muscles unless you work out with very heavy weights for long hours several times a week.
Remember to check with your doctor before starting an exercise program.
